  • One Minute to Calm - Stress and Anger Management Class

       • Date: September 8, 2008
       • Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm

    Learn about the killers of stress and anger and how to avoid them. Join us for a FREE relaxing night to learn about the causes and cures of stress and anger. In this crazy world we live in, constant phone and computer stress, price of gas stress, kid stress, job stress, and just everyday stress can be deadly. Stress, anger, and depression equals ulcers, paranoia and heart attacks. Discover ways to living and enjoying life to the fullest. Uncover the techniques and tools inside of yourself to living an enjoyable stress free life on Monday, September 8th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Cedarcrest Hospital, 525 Russell Road, Newington, CT in the Chadwick room. Educator and AU Project Director Lyne Stokes, M.S. Ed. will be facilitating the class.   • Fair Housing

    On Monday September 15, 2008 at 7:15pm, we will offer a class on Fair Housing issues. Gloribel Gonzalez from the Connecticut Fair Housing Center will be conducting the class at Cedarcrest Hospital, 525 Russell Road, Newington CT, in the Chadwick Room. This class will answer any questions you might have in regards to housing discrimination. The center devotes most of its time to low income families that face issues of housing discrimination and have limited resources to resolve this issue.   • Interviewing Skills

       • Location: Cedarcrest Hospital, Chadwick Room (directions)

    Interviewing Skills will be offered Monday September 22, 2008 from 7:15 to 8:00 pm at Cedarcrest Hospital, 525 Russell Road, Newington, CT in the Chadwick room. Linda Lentini, who has conducted many interviews, will be teaching the class. We will be teaching the basic interviewing skills to show others how to obtain employment.   • Resume Writing and Job Search Techniques

    A resume writing class will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Cedarcrest Hospital, 525 Russell Road, Newington, CT in the Chadwick room from 7:15 to 8:00pm. Linda Lentini will be guiding participants through the process of writing an effective resume. Participants will learn the basics of resume writing and cover letter writing as well as an introduction to job search techniques and interview preparation.     AU Graduate Advocates who are doing their 6-month community placement schedule and host helpful workshops on pertinent topics as part of their internship. These workshops are taught by either the Advocates themselves or by guest speakers with expertise in the subject.
